Girl Stabbed Uber Driver To Death

A girl named, Eliza Wasni, walked out of the suburban Chicago Walmart by holding a machete and also a knife, which she had stolen, has got into the Uber car and began stabbing at the driver, said the prosecutors at a hearing on Wednesday. The Uber driver died of his wounds on Tuesday after giving the description of attacker to the police which led to the girl’s arrest.

A prosecutor read the description of the attack in the court which said that, 16-year-old Eliza Wasni simply climbed into the Uber car driven by 34-year-old Grant Nelson, and then stabbed him to death on early Tuesday morning. The judge ordered the Wasni, who has been charged as an adult with the first-degree murder, held without any bond.

The 2-page description of the attack offers no reason for the attack.

Prosecutors said that Nelson is a resident of Wilmette, picked up Wasni shortly after 3 a.m. on Tuesday in the Lincolnwood. It was Wasni’s third ride in the Uber vehicle on the early morning hours of Tuesday. Two minutes after Nelson began driving, the prosecutors said that Wasni began stabbing him from the back seat. Nelson was able to pull over and he ran into a nearby condominium building, where he screamed that, "Help me, help me! I'm going to die!" until the residents called 911.

Wasni has climbed into the front seat of Nelson's blood shedded silver sedan and then drove away, striking the median of road. Wasni jumped out of the vehicle and then fled on foot.

When the Lincolnwood police arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle with blood on both the inside and also outside, with Nelson's phone open up to the Uber app. The Uber app said that Nelson's Uber passenger was someone named Eliza.

The officers followed trial of the blood and found that Nelson was lying in grass. He was bleeding intensely from several wounds, and he was able to tell the officers what had happened. Nelson died at a nearby hospital a few hours later.

By using the description given by Nelson, police found Wasni nearby crouching behind the air conditioner, with a machete in one hand and also a knife in the other. Police warned Wasni that she could be shot with the Taser if she did not drop the weapons in her hands, as Wasni did not comply with the warning an officer used the Taser. Wasni dropped the weapons and then she was taken into the custody. Police said that she did not make a statement.

According to the prosecutors, police have recovered a shirt, which the girl could be seen wearing in the Walmart. The shirt had blood marks on it.

Uber officials said that the company is working with the police to provide the information for the investigation of case.

It is the first homicide in the Lincolnwood since the year 2006, said the police.
