3 Killed And 1 Injured In South Side Shootings

On Thursday, in the South Side shootings, three people were killed and also a teen boy was seriously injured, according to the Chicago police.

One of the fatal attacks was a double shooting in the Avalon Park neighborhood at around 2:30 p.m., said the police.

An woman, aged 18, was killed and also a boy, aged 17, was wounded when two people have approached them and opened the fire in 8100 block of the South Kimbark Avenue, the police said.

The woman was shot in the chest, and the boy suffered injuries to the back and also leg. Both were taken to the Stroger Hospital, where the woman was declared dead, said the officials.

At about 11:45 a.m., a man, aged 30, was shot two blocks west of the Ogden Park in the Englewood neighborhood.

Police said that the man was in argument with someone in 6500 block of the South Laflin Avenue, when the person, with whom he was arguing shot him multiple times in the chest and also torso.

The man in the shooting was identified as Bobby Lloyd, belong to the same block where he was shot. He was taken to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and was declared dead at 12:45 p.m., as per the Cook County medical examiner's office.

A person was in custody and the charges were pending, said the police.

Other fatal attack happened at about a block away from the Ninos Heroes Elementary School in the South Chicago neighborhood on Thursday morning.

The officers found a man, aged 27, was slumped over in a vehicle with the gunshot wound to his body at about 8 a.m. in 8200 block of the South Escanaba Avenue. The victim was identified as Scott T.L. Coleman, of 8100 block of the South Muskegon Avenue. He was taken to the Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was declared dead at 8:08 a.m.

The police were called to check up on someone's well-being and they found the man inside the vehicle, the police said in a media notification. Police did not release any information regarding the circumstances of the shooting.
