78-year-old Woman Beaten In Home Invasion

During a home invasion on the Chicago's North Side, a woman, aged 78, was brutally beaten on Friday afternoon, according to the police and family members.

The family of the woman said that, the woman was born in 1939, and was severely beaten during a home invasion in the 41 block of the North Avers Avenue at about 1:13 p.m., according to the police. The name of the woman is not revealed at the request of the family.

The elderly woman was rushed to the Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in a critical condition.

The family said the incident was a robbery and the suspect in the attack, was described as a tall Hispanic man wearing glasses and also a red hat.

No arrests have been made and the Area North Detectives were investigating the case.
