Three friends killed in crash during trip to Milwaukee!

Three Chicago women were killed when their Uber ride was hit by a Lexus SUV running a red light, police said.

According to the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office, all three were killed, Amy Taylor, 32, Lindsey Cohen, 35, and Ashley Sawatzke, 30.

An Ohio woman close to Taylor said she always used Uber when she was out with girlfriends. "They used an abundance of caution, always,” said Ruby Cottle, whose son is engaged to Cohen’s mother. “Every time they went out, they hired a driver.”

The accident took place about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, a little more than half a mile from the hotel, police report said.

Milwaukee Police Sgt. Tim Gauerke, said that, the Uber driver, Tim Snyder, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

All three victims worked in advertising in Chicago. The company’s CEO said in a statement, “We are absolutely devastated by the loss of these three incredible, exuberant young women who were taken from us far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones at this tragic moment. The grief of their absence is felt deeply across our Energy BBDO family.”

Sawatzke had recently left the company to work for famed Chicago firm Leo Burnett, which said that, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of Ashley passing. She was a valued and loved member of the Leo Burnett family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family at this time.”

Uber said that, “We are devastated to hear of this tragic accident and extend our deepest thoughts to all those grieving for the loss of their loved ones. We will support the police investigation in every way we can.”
