A rare type of tropical storm called the Flossie is all set to take the island of Hawaii by a storm. Although National Weather Service officials are expecting the cyclone to weaken into a tropical depression, if at all it hits the “Big Island”, it will be the first tropical gale to whirlwind the state since 1958.

Although news is that the strong weather has been consistently languished through the morning, all thanks to winds that bust up the storm, forecasters predict a shower of up to 6 inches on parts of the Big Island and up to 2 inches on other neighboring islands.

However, tropical storm warnings are still on. Forecasters affirm that the warning will stay on until Flossie storms into a depression. The have, furthermore, asked the tourists and residents to be prepared for heavy drizzle, deluge, wind gusts, mudslides, and big waves.

"Please stay home and in a secured, sheltered area," Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi said.

The National Weather Service on Sunday issued a tropical storm warning for Oahu, Big Island, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kauai and Niihau.
