World Cup 2023: India beat Sri Lanka by 302 Runs

India is having a dream run and performance in the ICC World Cup 2023 that is happening in India. The team registered a seventh victory in a row and is the only cricket team in this world cup without a defeat. Team India played with Sri Lanka in its seventh league match that took place in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. Team India reported a record total of 357 for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs. Shubman Gill (92), Virat Kohli (88) missed their centuries and contributed a record total for the second wicket. Shreyas Iyer (82) too posted a huge score and contributed for the high scoring match.

Dilshan Madhushanka (5/80), Dushmantha Chameera (1/71) took the wickets and all the bowlers of Sri Lanka were expensive. Chasing a total of 358, Sri Lanka tumbled down for 55 which is one of the lowest scores in a World Cup. India won by a huge margin of 302 runs. Mohammaed Shami (5/18) got the best spell among the Indian bowlers while Mohammed Siraj (3/16) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/4) took the other wickets for Team India. Mohammed Shami has been named as the Player of the Match. India is on the top of the table with 14 points and is followed by South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan in the top 5. India's next match is with South Africa on November 5th, Sunday.
