Analysis

Theri Movie Review

The first half of the movie has been slow in pace as it takes some time for the plot to be unfolded. The episodes between Vijay and Nainika have been outstanding.  The dose of drama has been excessive but the movie has been completely fresh. The songs have been shot well and the action episodes need special mention. The interval episodes change the complete mood of the film and the first half of Theri has been thoroughly impressive.

The second half of Theri is a complete surprise as the film has been loaded with action episodes throughout the movie. The second half of Theri has a strong social message in the movie and the movie has been completely predictable but it has been well balanced throughout. The second half of the movie dips at times completely and the pre-climax episodes have been shot well. The climax of the movie has been decent and on the whole Theri makes a decent watch.

Performance

Vijay is the king of masses and he has a huge fan base all over for his perfect timing and outstanding screen presence. He excelled in all the assigned characters in the movie and is the major highlight of the film. He carried the complete movie on his shoulders. Nainika is the major surprise of Theri and she has been completely entertaining. Samantha has been stupendous with her screen presence and her performance has been top notch. Amy Jackson too did a decent job in the film and Prabhu, Radhika, Rajendran and Mahendran did their jobs well.

The story of the film has been completely predictable and the screenplay, dialogues have been written well though the movie had enough flaws and predictable episodes. The music and the cinematography are the major highlights of Theri and the production values have been completely lavish. Atlee came out with a predictable film but the needed commercial ingredients make Theri a decent one time watch.

Final Word

Theri is a movie that makes a decent one time watch for the performances by the lead actors and for the engaging narration.
