Chicago police planned to visits Trump!

The Chicago Tribune has published that Trump will stay at his hotel in Chicago on Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday during his thank you tour, but the officials has not yet confirmed that report.

Trump tweeted that he will be in Indiana and Ohio as part of that thank you tour, but whether he has been intended to stay at his property in Chicago was unclear. ABC News has not confirmed about the plans and neither have the Chicago Police Department. The Secret Service told the ABC7 Team that "they have not been preparing for a Trump visit to Chicago at this time."

Still, a protest is already planned outside Trump Tower on Thursday at 5PM There are few reminders of past protests, metal barricades remained in place, surrounding the building.

The notice for the protest had been sent out on Wednesday afternoon. Trump Tower has been ground zero for Trump since he was elected.

Chicago has been a violent stop for Trump since before the election. He had canceled a rally at the UIC Pavillion after thousands showed up to protest, citing "safety concerns” in March.

clashes between protester and supporters had ensued. Police arrested five people, and two officers suffered minor injuries including one officer who had been hit in the head with a bottle and required stitches.

Shortly after 5 PM on Wednesday, the Tribune walked back its report about Trump's visit, saying that the police told them, “the visit is off”. The groups organizing the protest said that the protest will continue.

John Beacham said, "And if he's not coming, we're going to have a celebration and we're going to send a message to the president-elect that Chicago is not a place he come to without protest.”

Trump will be in Indiana to talk about a deal he has struck with Carrier to keep nearly 1,000 jobs in the state. He also announced that his nominations of banker and film producer Steve Mnuchin for Treasury Secretary.
