Misao Okawa, world’s oldest person who had recently celebrated her 117th birthday has passed away. Misao Okawa, the daughter of a kimono maker celebrated her birthday on 5th March, 2015. With her 117th birthday, she had become world’s oldest person.

Misao Okawa had said in her last birthday, 117 years didn’t seem like such a long time.

Okawa was born in Osaka on March 5, 1898. She got married in 1919 to Yukio. She had four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1931.

She has slowed down in recent months and was having trouble in hearing.
